The Symphonic Band is the training platform for the premier performing ensemble in the Viewmont Band program.
In the Concert Band students learn the skills and musicianship necessary to perform at an increasingly excellent level.
The purpose of this group is to perform the highest quality wind literature at the highest possible level.
Symphonic Band is a performing wind ensemble for Juniors and Seniors.
Through outside of class performances and in class studies students will further their musicianship skills and technique.
This group performs with the Concert Band and Percussion Ensemble at various venues including school concerts and the state concert band festival.
Pending instrumentation, a brief audition will be held between the Christmas Concert and the beginning of 3rd quarter.
To benefit the band program as a whole, we only take specific instrumentation to festival.
If there are too many of a particular instrument, students may be asked to play in the Concert Band for 2nd semester.
Decisions will be based on the instrumentation of the group, and the student's performance and dedication throughout the 1st semester.
